Description

Books Have Style is a game for sixth-grade students that focuses on identifying and understanding certain stylistic devices (simile, metaphor, portmanteau, and inversion). Players answer questions about literary elements and stylistic devices to place books that have fallen onto the floor on shelves at the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, USA.

Designed for 2 to 4 players, the game includes 4 individual game boards and 72 question cards of two types:

Questions relating to the understanding of figures of speech, that is to say their meaning and the processes by which they are formed.
Questions about identifying figures of speech.
To ensure that players fully understand the stylistic devices discussed in the game, the instructor can use the cheat sheet to introduce them and explain the different ways to create them. Players can then refer to the cheat sheet throughout the game, as needed. The game also includes an answer key that allows players to validate their answers independently.
