Description
In the 15th century, monks began breeding Andalusians in southern Spain. Their graceful gait was particularly appreciated by nobles and kings. Few would have thought, therefore, that the Purebred Spanish Horse was long used as a cavalry horse. Although it has always been renowned for its strength and courage, its main distinguishing feature remains its elegance. The Andalusian is an excellent dressage horse and performs high-flying jumps practiced elsewhere only by Lipizzaners at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna.
