Description
Cheetahs are excellent hunters. They first cautiously approach to within a few meters of their prey, then charge at it in the blink of an eye. If the prey suddenly changes direction while fleeing, cheetahs are able to change direction mid-jump. Their flexible spine makes this movement possible. But if they haven't managed to catch their prey after a few hundred meters, they must abandon the chase. Their high speed is so exhausting that they can only last a short distance.
