Description
The alligator is a dangerous predator with an exceptionally powerful jaw. Only the great white shark can bite harder than it. Interestingly, it's only the muscles that close the jaw that are so powerful. The muscles that open the mouth are so weak that they could be neutralized with simple adhesive tape. Compared to the saltwater crocodile, the alligator is smaller and significantly wider. It lives exclusively in rivers and lakes in the southeastern United States and China.
